About Kent H. Broom, Inc.

Kent’s credentials speak volumes. He has been a landscape architect for 30 years. He got his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University. From there he worked for several Mobile landscape firms before striking it out on his own.

For the past seven years Kent Broom has been designing large commercial projects such as shopping malls and subdivisions. He has also completed many small detailed projects like residential gardens and southern courtyards. As the Primary Landscape Architect and President of Kent H. Broom, Inc. the work he and his team have accomplished is seen in private and commercial spaces throughout the region, including Mobile, Point Clear, and Ono Island. His commercial clients include Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Mobile Press Register, Carrabbas, University of South Alabama, and Springhill College. His work can also be seen as part of the common area for the Meadows, Stone Hedge, Southbend and Grant Park Subdivisions. And he has numerous residential projects that have been completed under his watch. Kent is particularly fond of designing courtyards “where everything becomes intimate and personal.” In his design work he seeks to develop a concept through the design process using art elements and scale while incorporating the hardscape and softscape elements. Kent skillfully blends the highest elements of style with the aspirations of his clients.

Kent lends his extraordinary talents to the Festival of Flowers. The 2008 Show marked his 10th and final year as the overall show designer. Kent provided the master plan for the new home site for the Festival of Flowers at Providence Hospital in 2005. The 2006 show was the Festival of Flowers first show on home soil. Kent’s tireless efforts are at the forefront in the year round planning process and in his meticulous attention to the finishing touches that bring the show to fruition.

Kent H Broom, Inc is licensed to practice Landscape Architecture in Alabama and Mississippi.
